Ample Scientific SMZ10-TLL Trinocular Zoom Stereo Microscope, 0.75X-7.5X Magnification, 110V, WF10X/20 mm EyepieceAmple Scientific SMZ10-TLL Trinocular Zoom Stereo Microscope, 0.75X-7.5X Magnification, 110V, WF10X/20 mm Eyepiece Detail :

The Ample Scientific SMZ10-TLL stereo microscope has trinocular viewing heads, an optical zoom range of 0.75X to 7.5X, (ratio 1:10), a 1.9X to 375X range of magnification, a 20 mm field of view, and upper and lower LED illumination. This microscope creates a three-dimensional image with its stereo optical system, and enhances object or image resolution. It is commonly used by hobbyists, educators, and research professionals.

This microscope features upper LED illumination to reflect light off of the specimen, and lower LED illumination to transmit light up through the specimen for enhanced visibility. The microscope has a trinocular viewing configuration, with two eyepieces to ease eye strain and provide a more comprehensive view, and a third head to connect to an external monitor or camera for an alternative viewing option. The trinocular eyepiece works with an included 0.5X charge-coupled device (CCD) adaptor, for optical microscopy. The heads are fixed vertically at 45 degrees, and rotate 360 degrees. The microscope has 50-75 mm interpupillary adjustment for individual eye spacing, and dioptric adjustment capabilities of 5 to compensate for the difference in viewing ability between each eye. Two rubber eyepieces block out external light interference. The microscope has a guided rail stand to secure its head in place, and stage clips hold a specimen in place. Two focus control knobs allow adjustment with one or both hands. It also comes with two 10X widefield eyepieces, a dust cover, and a glass stage plate.

Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution of an object or image. There are three types of microscopes: compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective lens and an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying viewing abilities. A trinocular eyepiece is used to output digital images to an internal or external device such as a camera or monitor. Magnification ability refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolvant power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or through a range of adjustments. They can also use LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.

Ample Scientific LLC manufactures laboratory equipment and supplies such as microscopes and centrifuges. Founded in 2009, and headquartered in Norcross, GA, Ample Scientific offers scientific equipment for research, educational, clinical and industrial applications.
