VanGuard 1252SL Stereo Microscope with Binocular Head and Illuminated Stand, 10X Eyepiece, 1X and 2X Objective, LED Light Source, 110V, 10X and 20X MagnificationVanGuard 1252SL Stereo Microscope with Binocular Head and Illuminated Stand, 10X Eyepiece, 1X and 2X Objective, LED Light Source, 110V, 10X and 20X Magnification Detail :

The VanGuard 1252 SL stereo microscope has binocular viewing eyepieces, rubber eyecups, dual-magnification of 1X and 2X mm objectives for a range of resolution and applications, and upper and lower LED illumination. This microscope enhances object or image resolution with a stereo optical system that produces three-dimensional images. It is commonly used for inspection and dissection in basic research and for educational applications.

This microscope features binocular viewing eyepieces with two heads to ease eye strain, and to provide a more comprehensive view. The viewing heads are fixed vertically at 45 degrees, rotate 360 degrees, and have rubber eyepieces to block out external light interference. The microscope has a Greenough optical system for precision image creation. Upper LED illumination reflects light off of the specimen, and lower LED illumination transmits light up through the object. It has 51-77 mm interpupillary adjustment for individual eye spacing, and - 5 to + 5 dioptric adjustment capabilities, which compensate for differing viewing abilities between each eye. A 102 mm working distance (WD) between the stage and eyepiece, 10X widefield eyepiece magnification, and a 20 mm eyepiece field diameter (FD) support a range of application abilities. It comes with a frosted and black contrast stage plate, and a reversible white stage plate, to aid viewing. Two stainless steel, spring-loaded stage clips are locked on for durability. Dual, knurled adjustment knobs control focusing. It has a rack and pinion assembly for precise control, a slip clutch mechanism, and a tension control mechanism to protect the gears. It provides 65 mm of vertical travel ability. The microscope has a stain resistant and durable cast metal body with an enamel finish, and anti-skid rubber feet to prevent slipping. It includes a spare fuse, two rubber eyecups, a dust cover, and instructions. The 1252SL comes with five-year mechanical and optical warranties, and a one-year electrical warranty.

The 1252SL microscope overall dimensions are 400 x 220 x 305 mm (H x W x D), and base dimensions are 245 x 205 mm (W x D). The unit weighs 4.5 kg. It works with a 0.5A, 250 volt fuse (included), and a 110-volt power source for illumination, and comes with a six-foot power cord.

Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution of an object or image. Types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective lens and an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying viewing abilities. A trinocular eyepiece is used to output digital images to an internal or external device such as a camera or monitor. Magnification ability refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolvant power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or through a range of adjustments. They can also use LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.
